This group, currently a women's choir, explores well-known songs from the 1930s onwards, plus some popular music. There are a variety of approaches to develop group arrangements and fluency in jazz performance.

Recent repertoire includes popular music and jazz standards:

  • Cole Porter, Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Stephen Sondheim

  • Bernstein: West Side Story

  • Loesser: Guys and Dolls

  • Commissioned work by Graham Redwood, 'How the flute was born'

  • Arrangements of jazz classics such as Too Darn Hot, Stormy Weather, and of popular music including Tamla Motown, Lennon & McCartney.

See the Programme page for this term's repertoire.

Note: This choir is extremely popular and we cannot let it get any larger, as there would not be room on the stage at concerts! To be sure of being able to join, you must enrol in good time each term.
