Shipley and Barnsley concerts

The Addison Singers were invited to sing at two festivals in May 2004, one in Sussex and the other in Gloucestershire.

Shipley Arts Festival - 1 May

On Saturday 1 May the Addison Singers Chamber Choir performed with the Bernardi Chamber Orchestra at St Mary's Church in Shipley (near Horsham, Sussex) as part of the Shipley Arts Festival. The programme included a première performance of Ave Maris Stella by Cecilia McDowall, a composer who lives in Chiswick. For more information see the Bernardi Group website, www.BMGlive.com.

Barnsley Festival in Gloucester - 7 May

On Friday 7 May the Addison Singers performed at the Barnsley Festival in Gloucestershire. Barnsley is a small village 3 miles east of Cirencester. The annual Barnsley Festival combines music and gardens; the 'Open Gardens' festival usually starts with a music event at the church. This year's performance featured the Addison Singers Chamber Choir and Jazz Ensemble.
